Proposals

The site

The proposal site is located at land at the former Buxton Water site on Station Road. Two separate applications are being submitted by both DCHS NHS Foundation Trust and McCarthy & Stone. Details on the applications and an aerial view of the masterplan are detailed below.

Draft proposals

In conjunction with NHS organisations, and public sector bodies, Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Foundation Trust is bringing forward an outline planning application on two-thirds of the Station Road site in Buxton. The proposal will see a centrally-located, state-of-the-art health and public-sector facility built to house a range of health services all under one roof, the details of which are to be decided at a later stage.

Located right beside Buxton train station, it is ideally located for patients and staff, but will also provide ample car parking. The outline application will seek permission for the principle of such a facility at this site, as well as establishing a point of access. If this outline application is approved, Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Foundation Trust will then progress with plans and submit a detailed reserved matters application in due course.
