September 2023 update
In September 2023, McCarthy Stone and Porthaven submitted amended plans for the redevelopment of the site.
The amended plans have sought to respond to feedback received from East Devon District Council officers and other consultees.

Survey updates
Drainage
McCarthy Stone will be undertaking two drainage CCTV surveys between Wednesday 3rd October and Thursday 4th October 2023. The surveys are needed to obtain further information regarding the existing network.
Building B – Existing Flint Building
McCarthy Stone will also be undertaking site investigations, within the week commencing Monday 9th October, around ‘Building B’ – the existing flint building, which will be retained.
Site Security – CCTV
In addition, in late October 2023, McCarthy Stone will also be changing the CCTV system on site for a less intrusive one, in response to comments received from local residents.

Our Vision
McCarthy Stone and Porthaven are committed to consulting with the communities in which they seek to develop. It was important that the local community were provided with the opportunity to provide feedback on the plans prior to their formal submission.
An initial two-week consultation was held in July 2022, that was followed by a second consultation between November – December 2022, in which we sought to demonstrate how our proposals have evolved to take account of feedback received.
Feedback from both public consultations has helped inform the submitted plans and we will continue to listen and respond to the views of local residents and stakeholders, with regard to its proposals post-submission.
Project Status
McCarthy Stone and Porthaven have now submitted amended plans to East Devon District Council. The full plans are available to view via the Council’s website: www.eastdevon.gov.uk
