Proposals

The site

The proposal site is the Dove service station on Mayfield Road, Ashbourne.

The site is ideally located for housing for older people, being located a short distance of shops and services in the town centre.

October 2019: The submitted plans

We have worked hard to design a high-quality development which is in keeping with the character of the local area, while introducing new homes to meet the needs of local older people.

The submitted plans seek to develop this site with:

  • 41 Retirement Living apartments (mix of one and two-bed)
  • 28 car parking spaces for the apartments’ homeowners and visitors
  • A communal homeowners’ lounge
  • A communal homeowners’ garden
  • Lift access throughout the apartment building
  • Internal mobility scooter storage (with charging points)
  • Refuse store
  • An Estate Manager’s office

Our submitted plans also include:

  • 7 Retirement Living bungalows (two bed)
  • 6 Retirement Living cottages (two bed)
  • Private car parking for every bungalow and cottage

More widely on the site, the plans include:

  • Access for cars and pedestrians via Mayfield Road
  • Attractive new landscaping and boundary treatments across the site
